Under the guidance of professional industry mentors, participants learned about pre-production, production and post-production, and were given the opportunity to undertake production roles that a majority of them had never done before.Įach Jumpcut production was based at Film City Glasgow and supported by Sigma Films staff, as well as specific project staff and industry mentors. The selected crew were then placed in defined roles that are directly relevant to their career ambitions and skillsets, enabling them to develop hands-on experience in an industry environment. We recruited young people who demonstrated experience in or commitment to different areas within the industry, ranging from electricians and hair and make-up designers to location managers, editors and directors. Each year, around 25 young people aged 16–25 formed a production company to make a professional, budgeted short film.
